Jenna Louise Dickens is a multidisciplinary artist, songwriter, recording artist and performer whose work spans electronic music, hip hop, experimental sound and contemporary art. Working under the aliases JayEllDee, RudeGRL and Kali, her career has crossed both independent and major label spaces, earning recognition across music, fashion and visual culture.
Beginning her professional career at the age of 12, Jenna gained early support from BBC Radio Wales, BBC 1Xtra, Huw Stephens, Bethan Elfyn and Ras Kwame, later appearing on Lady Sovereign’s BBC 1Xtra radio show as one of her favourite emerging artists.
Across her career, Jenna has collaborated with and received credits alongside artists, producers and writers including Basement Jaxx, Sub Focus, N-Dubz, Labrinth, Dawn Penn, Shola Ama, Wiley, Roll Deep, Biff Stannard, Tim Powell, Al Shux, Ben Langmaid, Nick Hodgson, Lostboy and Chris Constantinou. Her work has been released through labels and publishers including Universal, Mercury Records, BMG Chrysalis, CR2 Records and Universal Production Music.
As part of RudeGRL + CC, Jenna’s work has been featured internationally across film, television and sport, including NBA and Love Island, while receiving support from Iggy Pop, BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio X, Kiss FM and international press outlets including Classic Pop and Vive Le Rock. The project received a PMA Mark Award in Los Angeles in 2020 for Best Hip Hop Track.
Jenna is currently developing new multidisciplinary works combining portraiture, sound, installation and immersive storytelling.
